Bakery Cafe in Aransas Pass

Have loved this place since we moved here. Gonna miss this place when k move back to Houston in a couple weeks

absolutely love this place! from waitstaff to food the entire experience is what you would want out of a small town diner! will definitely be making this a part of my future coastal trips!

Had dinner here last burger was excellent, nice juicy, succulent, homemade, fresh burger. Yum yum. Breakfast was tasty, coffee good flavor, hot and fresh. Also the people who work there are super friendly and very, very fast. AWESOME PLACE, VERY HOMEY I LOVE IT!!

Great place to eat! We drive from over in Corpus Christi in Tuloso Midway area to eat here as often as possible!

The food was good, but it would have been better if it wasn't cold. The restuarant was packed and the servers were stressed and slow.

I love, love, LOVE, THEIR FOOD. Some days the service suks other days service is excellent. But the food makes it worth it.

Food was very southern & delicious. Waitress was very sweet & personable. We almost went home when we saw it opened @ 530( we thoight pm....lol)

If you're into home cooked food, go to the Bakery Cafe. Great homemade burgers, onion rings, chicken fried steaks, and great desserts. Everything is delicious in this old time cafe. You've got to try it!

Same waitress just tossed everything on the table ...

They were very busy when we walked in. Only one clean table in the front and none in the back. Reluctantly we sat at a table that had not been wiped down. Multiple other tables came in and sat at the other uncleaned tables. To my surprise, the other people got menus and drink orders in before us. No biggie. We had Kari waiting on us. She promptly cleaned our table and took our drink order. Very shortly later she brought our drinks and took our food order. It came out in less than 10 minutes. My wife, my kids, and I all had a very good experience. Not to mention how awesome the food was. Thank you Bakery staff for always being awesome! Keep up the amazing job you do.

I like this cafe, I have a standing appt. every week. There good is very good and affordable.

Of all the places I've had a meal in the past 3 weeks, this was my least favorite. It took a long time to order water and it took a long time to get it. Then we waited to place our order. The staff was pleasant and made many apologies for the wait. The blue cheese dressing on my salad was very good. The chicken fried steak and baked potato was average at best. The potato was lukewarm, the hard, red, and artificial bacon bits are never good. The steak portion was large but lacked any seasoning. I was truly disappointed.

Good home cooked food.

Very good diner type restaurant serving great meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with daily specials for all three. Service there is outstanding as well. Jessie served our group of 10 this morning and did a fantastic job!

Love the down home cooking and friendly staff. Always hard to choose what to delicious food order.

First the good. We were able to sit right away. We were aproached in less than two minutes. The food came out timely. Now the not so good. The waitress was new and didnt have appropriate knowledge of menu or services. The food came out cold. When asked to heat up some hasbrowns. They didn't send new they microwaved them and served them rubbery. We saw the Bakery Cafe charged an excessive amount for Ranchero sauce. We ordered a plate that included Ranchero sauce. We asked for it on the side. It was served cold quite cold. We were very happy that we didnt have it served on our eggs. It would have made them stone cold. Cold food then reheated rubbery food and excessivley priced extras. But the topping of it all is that this restaurant called Bakery Cafe does not have real butter. That's right not even on request. No real butter in the whole place. What do they bake with? Not with real butter. Won't return in the near future.

Overcooked fish with very thick breading. Mac and cheese that came with the special was bland. I don't know about the rest of the place but the area by our table could have I ed a good cleaning.

If I could give a negative star I would. WORST service ever. I asked if the coffee was fresh she said yes I asked for a coffee and a small glass of ice. The coffee tasted like it was left from lunch and I had to ask 3 times for the glass of ice. My husband asked for unsweet tea and got sweet. She then came and told us that they were out of dinner rolls so he asked for 4 pieces of wheat toast she brought 1 piece of white bread and 1 piece of wheat bread. My husband ordered chicken fried steak and double fries he asked for his fries covered in gravy they barely put any gravy on them and charged 1.29 two times for the gravy. He asked to speak to someone in charge and was told they aren't here right now. We have been going there since 2012 and tonight will be our last!!!!!!!!!!!

First time to eat a meal here other than breakfast. Had late lunch around 3 pm. Food was good as usual but place was filthy, food all over the floor. Need someone in charge to keep waitpersons on task to clean when not busy. The breakfast crew are always on top of things and much friendlier too. Maybe we just caught them at a bad time. Will stick to breakfast here from now on.
